Congratulations to the players, coaches, owners and staff of the San Rafael Pacifics, the 2015 Pacific Association Champions!

On behalf of the Pacifics ownership group and staff, I want to thank and congratulate the Pacifics players and coaches for making our second consecutive championship possible.  This season was like no other for the Pacifics in our four years of existence. A tremendous amount of credit for our on-field success this year is due to our manager, Matt Kavanaugh, and our coaching staff Nick DeBarr, Maikel Jova, and Tyler Spencer, who had us end the season on an incredible 27-5 run, including a nine-game winning streak that culminated in the Pacific Association championship.

2015 was a banner year for the Pacifics both on and off the field. We made history in many ways this year, among which we were the first professional team to use an automated strike zone to call balls and strikes, we signed a woman to pitch for us, we hosted a wedding on the field for our longtime team captain, Maikel Jova, we retired the number of baseball great Jackie Robinson, and we became the first team to win back-to-back championships in Pacific Association history.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our fans, host families and sponsors. To the fans, I want to thank you for coming out to the ballpark year after year. Your commitment to this team both keeps us energized and makes us strive to do better every season.

To our generous sponsors and host families that make this entire team possible, I can’t thank you enough. Your partnerships with the Pacifics allow us to continue to provide Marin County with low-cost family entertainment and an exceptional fan experience. We cannot exist without your contributions.

While I am incredibly proud of the way players played this season, I’m equally proud of how they represented the Pacifics, the city of San Rafael, and the County of Marin by tirelessly working in the community to show everybody what a value it is to have minor league baseball in a community.

I also want to thank and congratulate our Front Office, who worked so tirelessly and with a great degree of professionalism day-in and day-out over the 100-day season. Mike Shapiro, our President and General Manager; Vinnie Longo, our Assistant General Manager and radio voice; Hannah Shank, our Director of Fan Experience; Kim McGinnis, our Sales and Marketing Manager; Jane Shapiro, our Concessions Manager; Bill Spiller, our Director of Accounting; Patricia Toomey, our Director of Accounting; Eric Manlove, our Stadium Operations Director; Jennifer Clark, our Director of Community Relations and Events; Kim LoFrano, our Community Relations Coordinator; Robin Endsley-Fenn, our Graphic Designer; Jeff Zimmerman, our IT Consultant; Mark Carlson for his always fantastic job on the PA; our incredible group of interns: Megan, Jackson, Alicia, Parker, Emily, Jake, Hayley, Summer, and James; and our entire game-day staff.

But none of this happens without the support of my wonderful partners, Stephanie Plante, Brian Sobel, Steve Allen, and, of course, Mike Shapiro.

Finally, I want to thank the other members and owners of the other Pacific Association teams: The Sonoma Stompers, the Vallejo Admirals, and the Pittsburg Diamonds. The Pacific Association continues to become stronger both on and off the field every season, and I’m already excited to see what the league has in store for 2016.

This has been an incredibly successful year for both the Pacifics and our league. All of us from the Pacifics wish to thank you for all that you’ve done to continue to make our league the very best summer entertainment value in the San Francisco Bay Area.
