SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Pacifics have extended contracts to right-handed pitcher and San Marin High grad and Marin native, Vinny Pacchetti, Petaluma's Eric Lebaron (RHP), and extended a non-roster spring-training invitation to infielder and Marin Catholic alum, Dave Hoffmire.
Pacchetti, 22, a 2011 grad of Cal State Stanislaus, appeared in 12 games (11 starts), notching a 4-5 record with a 3.45 ERA, third best on the team. He held opponents to a .249 average in 60-plus innings of work. In 2008 Pacchetti was named All-Bay Valley Conference Honorable Mention and in 2009 earned Conference Pitcher of the year at the College of Marin.
LeBaron, a 6-foot 2 right-hander, posted a 6.43 ERA in 28 innings of relief with San Jose State in 2010. The 24-year-old held right-handed batters to a .219 average. In 2009, LeBaron made five appearances posting 3.86 ERA in 9 1/3, striking out five.
LeBaron spent the 2007-'08 seasons with COM under the tutelage of coach Steve Berringer. In '07 he led the team with 33 strikeouts over 24 2/3 innings, making 15 starts (one complete game) and a relief appearance. An '06 graduate of Casa Grande in Petaluma, LeBaron was a three-year varsity letter winner in baseball.
Hoffmire, a 27-year-old 6-foot infielder started 13 of the 36 games he appeared in for Santa Clara University during his junior year in 2005. As a freshman with the Broncos in '04, Hoffmire appeared in 34 games while starting 12 -- including 10-consecutive starts in the infield between March 27 and April 16. Hoffmire, a career .244 hitter with Santa Clara, knocked in 27 runs in 299 at-bats. An injury forced Hoffmire out of action his senior season. An '02 graduate of Marin Catholic, Hoffmire was a standout baseball and football player for the Wildcats.
